Le Pāṇinīyavyākaraṇodāharaṇakośah se veut un instrument permettant de saisir de façon concrète à la fois le fonctionnement et le champ d’application du système grammatical complexe qu’est l’Aṣṭādhyāyi de Pāṇini accompagnée des vārttika de Kātyāyana. À cette fin, les quelque 40 000 exemples fournis par le Mahābhāṣya, la Kāśikāvṛtti, la Bhāṣāvṛtti et la Siddhāntakaumudī ont été recueillis puis ont fait l’objet d’articles dont la teneur répond à ce double objectif. Cet ouvrage est donc de la forme d’un dictionnaire dont les entrées sont ces exemples auxquels on accède soit directement, soit par les sūtra de l’Aṣṭādhyāyi, soit par la terminologie grammaticale indienne. Pour présenter cet ensemble, il a paru approprié de suivre la présentation de la grammaire paninéenne qu’a faite la Siddhāntakaumudī. Aussi, chacun des volumes de ce dictionnaire, à partir du deuxième, correspond-il à un prakaraṇa de cette oeuvre. Le premier volume intitulé “Le livre des exemples” donne une vue d’ensemble de tous ces exemples. Le Pāṇinīyavyākaraṇodāharaṇakośaḥ est édité à la fois sous la forme d’un cédérom et celle d’un livre

The Pāṇinīyavyākaraṇodāharaṇakośaḥ is an instrument for grasping in a concrete way both the functioning and the field of application of the complex grammatical system of the Aṣṭādhyāyi of Pāṇini along with the vārttika-s of Kātyāyana. To this end, the approximately 40,000 examples provided by the Mahābhāṣya, the Kāśikāvṛtti, the Bhāṣāvṛtti and the Siddhāntakaumudī, have been collected and made the subject of articles whose content corresponds to this dual objective. This work is, thus, in the form of a dictionary whose entries are those examples which are accessed either directly or through Aṣṭādhyāyi’s sūtra-s or by Indian grammatical terminology. In presenting this entire work, it seemed most appropriate to follow the presentation of Paninian grammar made by the Siddhāntakaumudī. Consequently, each of the volumes of the dictionary, from the second on, corresponds to a prakaraṇa of that commentary. The first volume, entitled The Book of Examples, gives a simple and clear overview of the basic data embodied in all the examples. The Pāṇinīyavyākaraṇodāharaṇakośaḥ is being published in both book and CD-ROM form.
